Photo101: Landscape & Cropping (Day 15)

The theme for Day 15 was “Landscape” (the entire setting), with suggestion to crop the image – perhaps to leave a distraction out or alter the composition.

I took this on an evening walk in Ashdown Forest. The South Downs can be seen faintly in the distance. I struggled a little with ‘landscape as whole’ – deliberately leaving out foreground interest and not featuring anything in particular. Hopefully the leading lines of the tracks aren’t too distracting and merely lead the eye through the scene. I cropped the image slightly to ensure the horizon ran along the top third of the picture.

Shot on Fuji X100T with the Velvia film simulation.
