Photo101: Triumph & Contrast (Day 20)

It’s the final day of Photo101! The theme is “Triumph”, with the additional tip to play with contrast.

As with many of the themes, there are countless ways to interpret triumph. However, I had in mind ‘triumph over adversity’, particularly how us humans overcome great tragedies and sadness by pulling together and helping each other.

This is a photograph of Victory Arch at Waterloo Station. As well as being the main pedestrian entrance to the station, it’s a memorial to company employees killed during the two world wars. I boosted the contrast to give the image more ‘punch’.

Shot on Fuji X100T with the Classic Chrome simulation. Further processing in Lightroom.

Thanks for reading, the support, comments and likes during this course. It’s been great!
